Gamefluenza Type G expected to hit Sept 17th, Worldwide

Center for Disease Control (Atlanta, GA) The CDC has issued an a level 1 pandemic alert for the Gamefluenza Type G (better known as the Geezer Flu) that is expected to hit worldwide on Friday, September 17th. The outbreak appears related to contaminated Xbox 360 cases for the new game Halo Reach.

Why Should We Care About the Government in Gaming?

Recent legislation that was defeated in a federal court in California has been appealed by the State of California, and the appeal will be heard by the US Supreme Court in the Fall. Essentially California has said that the industry has been unable to police itself, and the government need to protect minors by effectively banning the sales or rentals of “violent” videogames to them.

The era is over.
What is responsible for GeezerGamers, what ultimately is responsible for untold hours of joy, (some pain) a few divorces and some marriages is over. True most of us moved on a while ago. We got Halo 3. We bought 360s. But it’s interesting to look back.

So many choices, so little time. We know there are too many games, too many gamers. So many clans, groups, so little time.

Forza Individual Drivers League [FIDL3] will begin Dec. 29th 2009!

Its been a few weeks in the making, but we finally have all our ducks in a row and we are ready to resurrect and kick off the Forza Individual Drivers League 3!

Pax 2009 Notebook

The first thing I noticed about PAX this year was not the fan funk that, surprisingly, is less than one might expect and only really hits a little on day 2. At that point, the lines to play ODST and Borderlands stretch most of the way across the main expo hall and everyone was up until 1 A.M. the night before, waving their iPhones to the rhythms of Metroid Metal.

Review of Red Faction: Guerrilla

Red Faction: Guerrilla is an open-world (sandbox) third-person shooter. Wow, even the genre is a mouthful. Think of Crackdown, GTA4, and fittingly, Saints Row since RF:G is created by the same developer as Saints Row (Volition). So similar to those titles, the gameplay is divided into larger story missions, side missions, and other random errands/events that you can do to pass the time outside of any organized mission.
