What is GeezerGamers.com?
While Xbox Live matches players by ability, it doesn’t take into account their attitudes. When one player calls timeout because he needs to change his baby’s diaper, and his opponent is asking Mom to stay up for just five more minutes, the maturity and dialog are worlds apart. Seeking kindred mature gamers and wanting to avoid the immature comments and rude behavior they encountered when playing random matches on Xbox Live, people around the world have found an oasis in GeezerGamers.com. An online community for the 30-and-older crowd, it allows Geezers to meet, play, and build their Friends Lists with like-minded folks. This website is the home to a community of 30+ year olds that appreciate a good game without the immature trash talk and annoying grief that can and does occur online. We don't take ourselves too seriously. We have kids, wives, ex's, mortgages or combinations of the above. We seek out other folks who share this state of mind, which we refer to as being a Geezer. Typically this means folks 30 and over, but if you're younger and are a Geezer, more power to you. You have to be at least 21 to join the site and community, no matter your mind or it's state.
Getting Started!
First off, be sure to post in the "Hello, my name is..." thread to let us all know your alive and tick'in. Also, be sure to read about the Getting Started help guide that will walk you though the basics of the site and how to get the full geezer experience. When sending a friend request be sure to mention that you are a geezer from this site so they don't think you are some random person. Refer to Finding Geezers Gamers to Game With for other tips on building your Friends List (Especially the Geezer Sponsor Program). Don't be shy, send FR's to people who reply to your posts and those who post things that you enjoy reading.
If you don't want to read posts that start with "I got pwn3d...by my mom, she took away my xbox" then cruise the XBOX, PC, Playstation, and Nintendo forums and don't be afraid to post your opinions! Get to know your fellow geezers and pretty soon your friends list will fill up faster than you can say Geritol!
The Founders, Moderators, and Members have put a lot of time and effort into this site and there are many features for you to take advantage of such as the Game Inventory, the Wikipedia pages, Geezer Arena, and most defiantly the My Forums feature which are all described in the Geezer Gamers Features help guide. New functionality is being added all the time (check the Menu on the top left corner) so explore and make suggestions!
If you have any technical questions, please visit the Helpdesk and someone will be able to come up with a solution. Also if you wish to contact someone directly, use the Private Message function (the Founders and Moderators are always available through PM's)
Now put the prune juice down, join a clan, and get your game on! (After putting the kids to bed of course, oh and taking out the garbage. Did you mow the lawn yet? We're out of milk can you run to the store...)
