Center for Disease Control (Atlanta, GA) The CDC has issued an a level 1 pandemic alert for the Gamefluenza Type G (better known as the Geezer Flu) that is expected to hit worldwide on Friday, September 17th. The outbreak appears related to contaminated Xbox 360 cases for the new game Halo Reach.

Why Should We Care About the Government in Gaming?
Recent legislation that was defeated in a federal court in California has been appealed by the State of California, and the appeal will be heard by the US Supreme Court in the Fall. Essentially California has said that the industry has been unable to police itself, and the government need to protect minors by effectively banning the sales or rentals of “violent” videogames to them.

Goodbye Halo 2 and the old Xbox Live
The era is over. What is responsible for GeezerGamers, what ultimately is responsible for untold hours of joy, (some pain) a few divorces and some marriages is over. True most of us moved on a while ago. We got Halo 3. We bought 360s. But it’s interesting to look back.

Game of the Week starting back up
So many choices, so little time. We know there are too many games, too many gamers. So many clans, groups, so little time.
It's time to get focused again and come together as one big heaving mass of ageing gamer flesh . . . (or just get together to play once a week.)
