News: “Good Morning GG.Com!!” – Geezers on the Air
So unless you’re still toting around your Walkman from 1985, you might have heard about some new-fangled technology that allows you to listen to music and other things without having a cassette or even one of them CD thingys! With this cool technology, you also get the ability to listen to all manner of folks opine about anything from the finer points of proper Chia Pet pruning, to Astrophysics in the form of “podcasts”. So, it’s really not all that surprising that a gaming site/haven/Safe Place the likes and size of GG.Com would have some of these casts going on too.
As it turns out that there are two that are running right now. While they both offer a plethora of Geezer goodness, they tend to differ in their focus.
The very first Geezer cast got off the ground a year and a half ago with JediChric who simply felt that the time was long overdue for Geezer Gamers to have its own podcast. Using headsets, Skype, and freely available audio software, Geezer Radio was born. With some original hosting help from Mudhog, JediChric and SparkStalker got the cast up and running. These days Jedi and Spark are frequently joined by AsphaltRanger, Ironwolf, and Asystole76 and others. Geezer Radio has been host to developers, reporters, and thanks to a little help from our friends, Major Nelson!
Aside from the occasional special episode, Geezer Radio releases a new episode every two weeks. Each ep is loaded with about an hour of gaming reviews and industry news, amongst other items of Geezer interest.
The guys over at Geezer Radio like to stay in touch with their listeners and encourage everyone to chime in with topics that interest them most. Additionally, while time zones can be a headache, if a Geezer is interested in getting involved with Geezer Radio as a contributor or co-host, then fifteen minutes of fame may only be a PM away.

The other Geezer cast available right now is the Geezer Gamers Community Cast. With the intention to solely focus on the “goings on” in the Geezer community itself, the GGCC has found its footing. Running rampant on the digital airwaves is McJeepers, Furgus (ask him about his vacuum), SlapshotSal, and Mojo fo 5ho. Back when JediChric and Sparkstalker were expelling podcast demons and getting Geezer Radio on the air, McJeepers was also thinking that a podcast was a great idea himself. ‘Jeeps (and his mom) spent some time jumping in on Geezer Radio, and then went to work on the GGCC idea with Furgus.
The GGCC uses mostly freeware programs, a laptop, and a decent headset to create their episodes. Clocking in at about an hour each, GGCC currently tries to post a new episode no later than every Friday.
While GGCC hasn’t really had any non-Geezers as guests, they aren’t necessarily opposed to it either. It seems that they’d like to stay focused Community Affairs. Geezers interested in joining in should contact one of the current crew!
You can find the GGCC at http://geezergamerscommunitypodcast.blogspot.com . It’s available on iTunes, as well as on Zune (but is not searchable there yet).
For more information on both Geezer Podcasts you can head over to the Geezercast forums (http://www.geezergamers.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=280), and check out the threads there. You’re sure to find all of the information that you’re looking for to help you enjoy Geezerdom offline.
Until next time, good gaming. We’ll see you on the box.

Awesome article, thanks for the write-up. I think we definitely can improve but it's been a blast to record these. We welcome all suggestions and topic ideas and so forth.
I second what Mojo said. Really appreciate the kind words, and would love to hear from more of the community regarding the casts. We welcome all suggestions, recommendations, compliments and criticisms.
